Spine-health

Physiotherapy care for slipped/herniated discs is a nonsurgical treatment option to address your symptoms.
Your treatment will depend on your condition, but it’s important to understand if the tendon reflexes, muscle strength or sensation along the path of a nerve are intact.
Your entire spine will be evaluated since one area of your spine can influence another part of your body.
After your exam and X-rays, the doctor will determine if you have an intervertebral disc injury related to a herniated disc, and develop a treatment plan that may include spinal mobilization, manual therapy, and therapeutic exercises.
Overall, the treatment is safe and effective, but some care treatments are not recommended for every patient, for example, if you are experiencing unusual neurological symptoms or advanced loss of strength and reflexes.
In these cases, we would recommend one of our medical partners in Jordan who can help with your specific condition.
In severe cases, a herniated disc may require surgery to remove or repair the slipped disk.

Women's Health Rehabilitation Unit

Physiotherapy for women’s health is one of the treatment methods for problems affecting the pelvic area and the muscles of the pelvic floor.
The causes of pelvic pain are either due to problems in the reproductive system or the urinary system, and this pain usually increases with pregnancy, injuries, inflammation, and erosion of the joints.
When might a woman’s health physiotherapy be needed?

1. Pelvic and lower back pain
52% of women suffer from back pain with pelvic pain, 82% of them started back pain and then pelvic pain followed.
Increased contractures in the lower pelvic muscles cause pelvic joint stiffness (SIJ) Pain from pelvic muscle stiffness points extending to the lower back, buttocks, and inner thigh are.

2. Pregnancy period
During pregnancy, many physical and functional changes occur in many organs of the mother’s body systems.
The nature of breathing becomes superficial due to the elevation of the diaphragm muscle. The displacement of the center of gravity up and forward affects the change in the position of the body.
The expectant mother may show an increase in flexibility and loosening of ligaments throughout the body due to the hormonal changes.

Joint dysfunctional conservative rehabilitation

  • Physical therapy (PT) can make a world of difference for patients with joint pain. So our rule simply is to improve the range of motion in joints. Some patients complain that the joint feels stiff, or “locked up,” etc. and PT can help with that.
  • PT can strengthen muscles around joints, helping to reduce the strain on those joints, improve stability, and more.
  • Balance can also improve from PT, reducing the risk of falls, and improving overall stability and strength.
  • Therapists can also use ultrasound, electrical stimulation, and other treatments to significantly reduce pain.
  • Another important note about PT: while it can often prevent surgery, sometimes therapy can only delay the need for surgery. However, by the time you are ready for joint replacement surgery, the PT you’ve done has helped you become stronger.

Geriatric rehabilitation
Role of Physiotherapy in Geriatric People

Aging or getting old makes our body go through many physical changes.
These changes usually cause a decrease in muscle strength, bone density, and body coordination, and even make the joints stiffer, which sometimes can lead to falls and fractures.
Exercise programs set by a physiotherapist can help reduce body pain, enhance the movement of joints, facilitate coordination, and boost respiratory function.
Elderly people suffering from chronic diseases can also obtain benefits from physiotherapy.
Though physiotherapy cannot stop the process of aging it can help to reduce the impact that it has on our bodies.
Physiotherapists are trained professionals who can identify the factors that prevent elderly people from being active and independent.
Exercising regularly can also help to reduce the risk and impact of illnesses that are more likely to affect older people.
The conditions suffered by elderly people who require physiotherapy:

  • Pain from chronic conditions
  • Improve strength and flexibility.
  • Postural Instability and Balance Impairment
  • Risk of injury
  • Prevention of risk of a fall
  • Maintaining an independent lifestyle

Extracorporeal Shockwave Therapy is a non-invasive option for the treatment of various pains and diseases of the musculoskeletal system.

Used in Orthopaedics, and Sports cases for mainly working on the treatment of chronic pain in shoulder, back, heel, knee, or elbow.

The proposed mechanisms of action for ESWT include the following:
promote neovascularization at the tendon-bone junction stimulate proliferation of tenocytes and osteoprogenitor differentiation, increase leukocyte infiltration, and amplify growth factor and protein synthesis to stimulate collagen synthesis and tissue remodeling.
